Evelyn Diaz-Iturriaga

Originally from Chile, Evelyn moved to Washington, D.C., in 2023 to pursue a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics at Georgetown University under the advisement of Dr. Lara Bryfonski. Before beginning her doctoral studies, she spent ten years teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Chile and abroad. Drawing on her classroom experience, Evelyn’s research focuses on language assessment literacy and classroom-based assessment within English language teaching. More broadly, she is interested in instructed second language acquisition, language teacher education, and task-based language teaching and learning.
